KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Daisy Chain is a session option that allows you and other signers to sign a document at different times.
- To access the feature you will click “Sign Separately” when entering a session.
- If you don't want to sign separately, NotaryLive offers a Multi-Location feature.
When you’re using NotaryLive’s remote online notarization technology, our platform offers different ways you can enter a notarial session.
Whether it be you or someone else is not available or you’d just like to get it all done in one go – there are different options to consider.
The one we’ll be talking about in this blog is our Daisy Chain session option along with how to use it and when you may need this specific session choice.
1. What Is A Daisy Chain Session?
Opposite of a one-off session where someone joins individually to sign and get their document notarized, a Daisy Chain session is different.
A Daisy Chain session is basically multiple sessions that are conducted separately if there are more than one person in the party.
When would this option be helpful for me?
Let’s say you need a document notarized and multiple people are involved.
However, people cannot enter the call simultaneously and can only join a session at a different time, different day.
An example:
- Signer #1 finished a notarial session and finished their part of the document.
- But, Signer #2 cannot sign until tomorrow.
This is where Daisy Chain comes in.
2. How does Daisy Chain work?
With Daisy Chain, signers enter the notarial session individually. It starts with Signer #1, then #2, then so on depending on how many people need to sign.
It is the same set of steps but for each signer in a different session with the same document.
Where do I find this option?
- Create a Session
- Enter Signer Information
- When you enter the signer information, it will prompt you to select a choice for ‘Participant Location’ under the ‘Signers and Witnesses’ step within the process.
- With your selection, you would choose either ‘Present’ if someone will be joining the call with you signing simultaneously (which would be a Multi-Location session)
- Or if the signer can’t join until a different time, you will choose ‘Signing Separately' which would lead to a Daisy Chain session (see below).
- Complete the rest of the steps
- After Signer #1 completes their part of the session, the following signers will receive an email prompting them to start a session when they are ready (which will include that same document).
- And that’s it!
Something to note: If someone is signing with you, there will be +$5 to the order. If someone is signing separately, they will be paying on their own in the different sessions.
