What do I need to complete a notary session online?
You’ll need to upload your document, use a device with audio and video (such as a computer or smartphone), have a stable internet connection, and present a valid photo ID. The full process typically takes 10–15 minutes.
What counts as a session?
A session refers to a live notarization completed with one of our certified online notaries. You are only charged when the session is successfully completed.
Is NotaryLive accepted in all 50 states?
Yes. Remote Online Notarizations (RON) completed through NotaryLive are legally accepted in all 50 U.S. states when performed by a properly commissioned online notary.
Can I use NotaryLive from outside the U.S.?
Yes. You can complete a notarization from anywhere in the world, as long as you meet identity verification requirements. Most users verify their identity using:
- Credential Analysis — Upload a valid government-issued photo ID
- KBA (Knowledge-Based Authentication) — Answer 4 out of 5 personal, credit-based questions within 2 minutes
