Notarize a Document Your AI Assistant Wrote
AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini can help you draft affidavits, letters, consent forms and other documents. NotaryLive can notarize those documents online, with a commissioned notary over live video. Here is how to get your document from the conversation to a notary.
Option 1: Download the document and upload it
- Ask your assistant for the finished document as a PDF or Word file, and download it. NotaryLive accepts these file types: pdf, doc, docx, png, jpg, jpeg, heic, heif.
- Go to Get Started and upload the file.
- Add everyone who will sign or witness, then continue through the order form.
Option 2: Connect NotaryLive to your AI assistant
If your assistant supports custom connectors or remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, add NotaryLive as a connector using this MCP server URL. You don't need to sign in to or authorize a NotaryLive account to connect it.

Then ask your assistant to create a notarization order for your document. The assistant sends NotaryLive the document and each signer's name and email address, and gives you a link. Open that link in your own browser to review the order, verify your identity and pay. NotaryLive never takes payment inside an AI assistant.

If an AI agent is using a browser for you
Browser-based AI agents can fill in the document and signer steps of the NotaryLive order form. Identity verification and payment must be completed by you, so the agent will give you a link to open in your own browser to finish the order.
What happens next
- Verify your identity. Have a government-issued photo ID ready.
- Meet a notary by video. A commissioned notary joins a secure video session, watches you sign, and notarizes the document electronically.
- Download the notarized document. You can then print it or send it wherever it needs to go.

Good to know
- A notary confirms who is signing and witnesses the signature. The notary does not review the document's content or give legal advice, and neither does NotaryLive. For important documents, consider having an attorney review what your assistant wrote.
- Some recipients require a specific form or wording. Check with whoever will receive the document before you notarize it.
